Typhoon Haiyan

As you all know and will have seen the devastating effects of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

My housemate is originally from this country, fortunately her family are all safe and by the time the Typhoon had reached the area where her parents and brother live the Typhoon had been downgraded from a level 4 to a level 2. Still powerful and scary but did not create the same level of destruction as it did in other parts of the country.  I am glad my housemate is still about to contact her family as in many areas there is no electricity. Others were not so lucky.

If you want to, those in UK can donate via the DEC (Disiaster Emergency Committee) website.
